On March 10, 2007... Aeroflex-Metelics has successfully passed their ISO9001:2000 registration recertification audit.

To ensure you are delivered a diode that exactly meets your specifications, Aeroflex / Metelics' top management has supported substantial investments in the most modern design and test equipment.

Since all Aeroflex / Metelics' diodes are treated as class A static sensitive, the latest precautions for static control are in place. All floor surfaces are covered with static dissipating tiles, work station are fabricated from static dissipating laminates and all personnel wear smocks with built-in grounding materials. Prior to beginning operations each worker is required to attach a grounding strap from the smock to the grounding work station.

All wafers produced are evaluated for electrical performance, visual quality and metalization integrity by quality control prior to release for production. Samples are tested for all DC and RF parameters, bond pull, die shear, and both low power (40x) and high power (100-200x) visual inspection.

Once approved by quality control, die are given 100% DC electrical tests and visual inspection prior to shipment. In the production of device or assembly for packaged units, devices are then 100 % tested again for all required parameters prior to shipment.

Aeroflex / Metelics is a leader in the computerized testing of microwave diodes. We work with several of the leading test equipment in developing specialized methods for very accurate and rapid measurement of the small typical of microwave diodes.

In conjunction with a test fixture supplier, we have developed a non-destruct capability to measure insertion loss and isolation of beam lead PIN diodes to 18 GHz.

Reliability is built in with the finest materials and facilities.

Aeroflex / Metelics' new state-of-the-art wafer fabrication facility has over 6,000 square feet of class 100 clean room with the most up-to-date process equipment available. Advanced process control and monitoring equipment assures a contamination free environment resulting in the highest reliability devices possible.

Traceability of all Aeroflex / Metelics diodes begins with the silicon wafer. Each wafer is given a unique serial number which is maintained through all wafer processing steps in assembly and testing. We maintain this information for all device types, both commercial and Hi-Rel. This allows constant feed back from our customers. The result is continuing improvement in diode performance, reliability and consistency.

Aeroflex / Metelics has supplied microwave diodes to many high reliability programs in the 12 years since our inception. These include the sparrow, Patriot, Harpoon and Harm missiles, The EW systems of F-16, F-15 and B-1 aircraft and various military communications systems. In addition, Metelics' diodes have been sent into space on commercial telecommunications satellites and the space shuttle.
